Abstract

Hey guys! Gotta admit that I'm pretty pleased at finding a way to rock a crop top comfortably. I've wanted to get in on the trend for a while but a serious reluctance to show my stomach had stopped me. It wasn't until I came across this eye catching skirt that I could finally put my cropped cami to use. Between the bold skirt and colorful accessories, I doubt that anyone is even noticing my top half!

What tricks are you using to work the summer trends?

Dressed

Hey ladies! Just a quick look at what I wore over the weekend for a friend's birthday celebration. This dress had actually been collecting dust in my closet for the last year so I was glad to finally cut the tags and give it a whirl. I was initially a little hesitant of wearing a lace dress but realized some bold accessories was just what it needed! A beaded clutch, statement earrings and the necessary belt  made it a bit more memorable. Now if only I can keep shopping my closet and stay out of the stores!

How were you dressed over the weekend?

Daring

Ever since last summer's color drenched look, I've been wanting to make a statement again and I was up to challenge of a bold red ensemble. By keeping it simple with a few textured accessories, I figured it might be more palatable for the less color inclined. And for the sake of work appropriateness, a black blazer did a great job of bringing it down a notch.
{Note to all the curvy girls: I positively love the fit of these Banana Republic Sloan pants. Just a quick recommendation because finding flattering pants can be a real struggle. Also, wore the printed ones here.}

How do you keep it interesting for work attire?

Ladylike

Hey there! Just showing a little Sunday chic for Father's day, which included some great father-daughter bonding. On top of being my boss - mentor - photographer, my Dad has been so supportive of my little ol' blog from the very beginning and I am so appreciative of our relationship.
Love ya, Dad!

Hope you were able to show lots of love to your father as well!

Thanks for stopping by.

Bubbly

Sometimes posts aren't even about the clothes...they're about the people wearing them. The people that bring every look to life because of their infectious energy and effervescent personality. Anyway, I use all of those big words to say that I completely lucked out in the sibling lottery because my little sis is such a gem  and also such a natural model - I'm hoping she'll teach me how to pose!

{P.S. She's on the fence about starting a YouTube channel to document her natural hair journey - would you guys watch?}

Royal

Happy Monday! Can we all agree that it came too soon? But at least there's the memory of a fun weekend to keep me going to Friday. I wore this to check out the Summer Arts festival last weekend amidst some interesting weather. (Note to self: Flirty dresses are fun but should be avoided at all costs when windy weather is in the forecast. Because I'm fairly certain someone caught more than an eyeful! lol) But on a less embarrassing note, I'm loving this new purse. Between the bright color and structured shape, it is adding the perfect pop to a plethora of looks. Plus, it holds my bulky Canon Rebel T3i like a charm - my fellow bloggers can relate!

Thanks for reading...
